TRUSTEE VACANCIES – Nr Exeter

Stallcombe Community is a residential care service located near to the village of Woodbury, near Exeter, set within 55 acres of beautiful East Devon Countryside.  We also have a day service within the grounds of Bicton College, called Bramley Barn.  Both services support adults with learning disability and autism and enable service users to participate in farming, gardening and horticulture activities on site as well as a variety of additional activities in the local community.

Stallcombe House is a registered charity (registered charity number 238377) and is registered with the Care Quality Commission and regulated under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.

Stallcombe Community promotes a green ethos, is striving to become carbon neutral, and improve local biodiversity by generating electricity from its solar array and selling spare KW’s back to The National Grid, getting heat and hot water from our onsite bio-mass boilers and from a ground source heat pump. The onsite reed bed processes wastewater and it uses bore hole water for gardening.  There is also a tree planting scheme and sustainable hedgerow management in place.

Stallcombe Community is now looking for a number of new trustees to join its small board at an exciting time for the Charity, as it looks to diversify its service, improve its facilities, and strengthen its commitment to ecology and sustainability, fostering greater links with its local community whilst securing its financial future.

We are particularly keen to hear from individuals with expertise in legal, financial, building, or land management fields. As a trustee with this expertise, you will have the opportunity to guide our strategic decisions, contribute to sustainable development initiatives, and ensure the continued excellence of our services.  Board meetings are held quarterly on a Thursday morning. But ultimately good Trustees are people who share the same passion and work together to achieve the same goals.

You can make a real difference to Stallcombe Community!  By giving a few days a year of your time you can help lead Stallcombe Community on the next phase of its journey, to provide excellent person centred care in an ecologically and financially sustainable way.
