Regional Engagement Officer – South West

We all know someone who is living with tinnitus and it is a fact that for one in ten people it never goes away.  Unfortunately, there is no clinical treatment or cure and this means that most people just have to find a way to live with it.  It can affect your sleep, your ability to concentrate and your mood.  But Tinnitus UK are working hard to help people living with the condition to manage it more effectively, providing practical advice and moral support.

This role is key to an exciting new project in transforming the support networks for the tinnitus community in the South West, which has been identified as a region that is particularly isolated from local tinnitus support.  This role will be focused on targeting Devon, Dorset and Cornwall to proactively grow support groups network. This project is based on existing learning from growing an extensive local support network of over 80 groups. Under the guidance of the Head of Services, the Regional Engagement Officer will engage, recruit and train local volunteers to set up 14 new groups in selected localities.

We are looking for someone who has relevant experience working in the voluntary sector, recruiting, supporting and managing volunteers.  We will need you to work remotely from a central office and be able to travel across the region. You will be confident to deliver and support the development of training sessions.
