Navigate registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) in 2019 but the work of the charity started in 2011 as a natural development of the work of Wessex Resolutions CIC. Their vision is to eliminate social isolation and financial hardship by working with individuals and families who live in Somerset and Devon struggling with this. Typically, clients are referred to them and their experienced specialist advisers offer 1:1 advice, group-support and training with the needs of clients are at the heart of all they do. The charity recognises that every person is an individual, everyone’s circumstances are different so they tailor their approach and delivery accordingly, working at a pace that suits the client and using delivery styles that will encourage clients to engage and feel empowered.
In addition, they have developed the Navigate the Money Maze courses and workshops which are delivered to young people across a variety of settings and provide vital tools and knowledge to help young people to manage their finances and avoid spiralling debt.
We are now working with this young and dynamic charity to help them to find a new Trustee to join their Board. We are particularly keen to talk to people who have a background in education, who understand the impact of debt on people’s mental health and would like to be involved with a charity that is actively taking steps to tackle this.
Please see attached social impact report for more information about their work.
